What we collect

If you claim a room, we collect your email address, which room you claimed, and a record that you agreed to hear from us, with the date and time. That is the whole of it.

Your IP address is held briefly in memory to limit how many times the form can be submitted in a minute. It is not written to a database and is discarded within about a minute.

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and diagnostics.

What we do not collect

We do not use analytics, advertising cookies, tracking pixels or session recording. We do not build a profile of what you look at, and we do not sell anything about you to anyone.

Browsing this site sets no cookies. The private area we use to edit the site's words sets a login cookie, but only for us.

Why we collect it

To tell you when the room you claimed is available, and to understand which rooms people want so we know which candles to make first. We write rarely, and only about Greenwick.

Where your information goes

Your email address and room preference are stored by Klaviyo, Inc., which handles our mailing list. Klaviyo is based in the United States, so your information is disclosed overseas and held under United States law.

Our website is hosted by a third-party provider whose servers may also be located outside Australia.

We do not disclose your information to anyone else, other than where we are required to by law.

Getting it back, or getting rid of it

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, which stops us contacting you immediately.

You can also ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it entirely. Write to greenwickau@gmail.com and we will action it within a reasonable time. There is no charge and you do not have to give a reason.

Security

Access to the mailing list is restricted, and the credentials the site uses to talk to Klaviyo are held on the server and never sent to your browser. No system is perfect, and we will tell you if something happens that affects you.

If you are unhappy

Please write to us first at greenwickau@gmail.com. If we cannot resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, which oversees the Privacy Act 1988.

Changes

If we start collecting something new, this page changes first and the date at the bottom changes with it.
